On The Value Talk: Positivity
A few days ago, I was invited to one of my client’s value talk (nicely arranged by Sophie Maria Pelle, Culture Manager of YOUVIT), a talk where anyone can share their experience based on the company’s value and culture that have been set up. I found it a very important gesture for a startup company to set the culture right at the very beginning, with a small team; something that has often been forgotten by many startups.
One of the company’s value is positivity on the workplace. Cliché, but surely important. One good point shared by the guest speaker, Mbak Joice from VIVA Health Indonesia, was there is a thin line between being positive and naïve. We can never avoid conflicts or office politics, but with positivity we can choose how we manage and overcome them, then move forward.
It is always easier to say than done. And I won’t preach anything on how to be positive or happy because I believe each one of us has our own way to be enlightened.
